On 8 February 2024, the UM6P-Faculty of Medical Sciences (UM6P-FMS) celebrated the white coat ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year at the Ben Guérir campus, as a solemn commitment to students entering the health professions.
Since its establishment in July 2022, the UM6P-Faculty of Medical Sciences has continued its efforts to train healthcare professionals through various programmes in English and French, with a cohort of 250 students, including 37.6% in Doctor of Medicine, 16.4% in Doctor of Pharmacy, 34.8% in Bachelor of Nursing and 11.2% in Bachelor of Hospital Logistics Management. The FMS was established by UM6P as part of its Smart Health Care City project in the green city of Benguérir. The aim is to promote the health ecosystem of our country in general and that of the Marrakech-Safi region in particular by training doctors with research skills, pharmacists focused on industry and biotechnology, versatile nurses and hospital logistics professionals with practical skills specific to the health and social protection professions.
As a commitment to professional ethics, first-year students in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Nursing programmes have taken the oath, which contains a set of moral and professional rules that every health professional must observe in the practice of their profession, in order to serve the interests of patients and society, as well as the interests of scientific research in the medical sciences.
