Research themes

The field of Medical Sciences can be categorized into five primary research themes, which include Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, Epidemiology and Public Health, Artificial Intelligence for Biological and Medical Applications, and Biomaterials for Medical Applications. These thematic groupings transcend conventional departmental structures, serving as crucial focal points for biological research and facilitating the exchange of methodologies, technologies, and conceptual frameworks.

The interconnections and overlaps among these five core themes cultivate a spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration within the ISSB Lab. This collaborative approach empowers the lab to address intricate issues related to human health effectively. The institute’s mission is to support research spanning from fundamental basics to clinical applications, enhancing our comprehension of biological processes and laying the groundwork for advancements in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Moreover, the ISSB Lab strives to offer innovative solutions in medical and biological research, establishing the institute as adept in addressing a diverse array of health-related challenges. As an expanding team, the Institute of Biological Sciences collaborates with PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and professors to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge in the medical field. The motto guiding our endeavors is “Research and Innovation Beyond Boundaries.”
